And Just Like That, It's Gone...
The above picture for my Mom is probably like anyone else watching an extremely creepy horror flick.
But I've been growing my hair since Casey's birth and figured that there was no better reason to cut it than to donate the "spun gold" (Mom's term) to Locks of Love...

Proof...
We mentioned several weeks back that Casey had begun walking, but we never offered proof... until today!

Sunday Treats...

In a medium bowl, stir together the following ingredients until well blended:
1 1/2 cups milkCarefully dip slices of bread into batter on both sides, and place on greased hot griddle, in sandwich maker, or in waffle iron. Serve with syrup, mini chocolate chips, powdered sugar... or all three!
1 cup pancake baking mix (like Bisquick)
3/4 cup peanut butter (can use 1 cup if preferred)
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
(Our batter batch this morning was enough to coat 12 slices of Texas toast.)
While on the subject of sweets, aren't these little oatmeal apple pies (with bits of cranberries) just the cutest?
They'll be added to Casey's breakfast collection at school, where we keep a Ziplock in the freezer of homemade treats (French toast, banana pancakes, soda bread, zucchini bread, and now these) for her to enjoy each morning.
And a last little sweet bit - I thought I was buying donuts... but the packaging proved me wrong.

House and Home...
So, here's our weather in Philly...

It's been raining since Thursday night, and as you can see, isn't supposed to let up for awhile. Winds are also supposed to reach high speeds throughout many parts of the storm.
We have discovered... I hate to say it, but I will... LEAKS (egads, NO!) in our house as a result.
Miraculously, thus far, the trouble spots are all within a very close range of one another and confined to the unfinished concrete "utility" corner of our basement. We're heading out in the wet, windy day to buy some silicone at Home Depot (thanks, Kristy, for the birthday gift card!) in the hopes of a quick (or semi-long term?) fix.
Casey's grabbing the rosary beads! Won't you pray along?

Feast!...

St. Casimir, a prince of Poland and Grand Duchy of Lithuania is a patron saint of the young, quite fittingly for our little girl. Pious from early childhood, St. Casimir loved to help the poor and was devout to the Eucharist and the Blessed Mother. He died at the age of 26 on March 4, 1484.
Today, we celebrate St. Casimir and ask him to pray with us for the health and growth of Casey Susanne.
